Working from home would be a hell of a lot more interesting if it were spent looking out the window at the sea from… a lighthouse.
This landmark property sits on the highest point of Inis Mór, the largest of the Aran Islands off the coast of County Galway. The now abandoned lighthouse was the first of a series of lighthouses built across the Aran Islands to aid in navigation along Ireland’s west coast. However, it became clear the lighthouse wasn’t effective enough and was decommissioned in 1857 and replaced by a newer nearby lighthouse.
From the top of the lighthouse, on a clear day, you can see up to 5 counties: Galway, Clare, Kerry, Limerick and Mayo, as well as the rugged and unspoilt landscape of the Aran Islands.
This will be a huge project for the new owners…
