This summer you’ll be able to take a ferry from Galway to the Aran Islands for the first time

Ireland’s oldest passenger ferry service is launching a new route this summer. Aran Island Ferries will be taking passengers directly from Galway city to Inis Mór this summer for the first time.

The 90 minute crossing will include an audio guide but final details of this new route, including a surprise addition to the return leg of the journey which takes in one of Ireland’s most celebrated attractions, haven’t been revealed yet.

Overseas travel restrictions have encouraged people to embrace and explore local tourism experiences. Our new route offers Galwegians and visitors to the city a fresh perspective and an exciting new way to celebrate and learn about two of the most iconic attractions in Ireland.

With foreign holidays still looking like a non starter this summer, we’re sure this new ferry route is going to prove popular with both domestic visitors and Galway locals looking for a short break close to home.

Follow Aran Island Ferries on Facebook for more information about their new Galway route.
