Nothing seems to be getting in the way of Cork’s growth and redevelopment. An application has been lodged to build over 1000 new apartments in the city’s Docklands area along with new bars and restaurants, shops, a creche, a medical centre and a performance area.
Newly released images show the extent of the modern development, which is just a short walk away from Cork’s city centre.
Marina Quarter Limited (a Kildare based company) is applying for a 10-year planning permission for a mixed-use strategic housing development at The Former Ford Distribution Site, Centre Park Road, Cork.
The new Cork city development will be spread over 7 acres and include a mix of studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments- all housed in 12 blocks, ranging in height from 4 to 14 storeys.
The site is located adjacent to the new Marina Park, where construction is underway and expected to be completed in 2021. The developers say the scheme will provide a “strong urban edge to the parkland, providing passive supervision of the park and amenity for the residents of the scheme.”
